A White House official says that President Donald Trump's “rage has been intensifying” in recent days due to Russia's actions and its continued attacks on Ukraine, despite his calls for a ceasefire

The outlet reminds that on March 7, Trump publicly threatened Russia with sanctions for the first time since his second presidency “after taking a softer line toward Vladimir Putin.”

According to a senior White House official, “Trump's rage is intensifying” over Moscow's behavior and escalation of strikes on Ukraine when the U.S. president is pushing for a ceasefire.

  • On the evening of Thursday, March 6, the Russian army launched attack UAVs at Ukraine. By the night of March 7, Russia launched missiles, targeting, among other things, energy and gas infrastructure. The attack resulted in civilians casualties in Kharkiv and Poltava. 
  • On March 7, Donald Trump announced that he is considering imposing major banking sanctions and tariffs on Russia until a ceasefire and a final peace agreement are reached.
