Trump envoy to meet with Ukraine over peace 'framework'
Donald Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, said he is planning to travel to Saudi Arabia to speak to the Ukrainian delegation about a ceasefire with Russia

He told journalists about this, Agence-France-Press reports.
“We’re now in discussions to coordinate a meeting with the Ukrainians in Riyadh, or even potentially Jeddah,” Witkoff told reporters on Thursday.
“The idea is to get down a framework for a peace agreement and an initial ceasefire as well,” he added.
Delegations from the US and Ukraine are expected to meet in the Saudi capital Riyadh on Tuesday, the news agency reported, citing a senior Ukrainian official.
The Ukrainian delegation will be led by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s chief of staff, Andriy Yermak. Defense minister Rustem Umerov may also be part of the Ukrainian delegation.
- During a speech at a European Council meeting in Brussels, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that work with the United States had resumed, and he hoped for a meaningful meeting next week.
