Trump believes Putin is stalling on full ceasefire negotiations
U.S. President Donald Trump is disappointed with the actions of Russian leader Vladimir Putin and believes that he is stalling for time in negotiating a full ceasefire in Ukraine
Fox News correspondent Jacqui Heinrich reported the information, citing a source.
According to the journalist's source, Trump believes that Russia is “slow-rolling comprehensive ceasefire talks.”
According to Heinrich, during the negotiations, discussions are focused on the "path forward," with the U.S. administration considering the imposition of stricter sanctions on Russia, particularly targeting its shadow fleet.
The Fox News source said that compliance with U.S. sanctions against Moscow remains low, estimated at just 3 out of 10. Meanwhile, imposing a ban on the shadow fleet transporting oil through the Baltic Sea could serve as a straightforward means of exerting pressure on Russia.
According to Fox News, sanctions have already been imposed on most of the Russian fleet, but the Kremlin uses the shadow fleet to carry out 70% of illegal oil sales.
