Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has responded to criticism from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who accused him of blocking Ukraine’s accession to the European Union

Zelenskyy believes that the Hungarian Prime Minister’s efforts to block Ukraine’s EU integration are tied to using Ukraine as leverage in Hungary’s domestic political battles ahead of the 2026 elections.
"There is no Ukrainian EU accession without Hungary. Every Hungarian will have their say on this. Whether you like it or not. That’s how we do things here," – Orbán wrote on X.
