Russia claims over 50 drones downed, people in Tambov region report refinery fire
Russia's Ministry of Defense has accused Ukraine of launching a UAV attack overnight on Sunday, October 27, claiming to have shot down 51 drones. Meanwhile, a fire was reported in the Tambov region near a local oil refinery

The Russian Defense Ministry's reported this.
According to the ministry, 18 drones were intercepted over Tambov, 16 over Belgorod, and four each over Bryansk, Lipetsk, and Oryol regions. Three more were reportedly shot down over Voronezh, one over Kursk, and another over the Sea of Azov.
Simultaneously, Tambov Governor Maksim Egorov reported drone activity in the Michurinsk district just after midnight.
"We’ve confirmed around 11 drones. A single fire triggered by an explosion was quickly contained by the Emergency Situations Ministry in Tambov," he posted on Telegram.
Astra, citing local sources, reported that the fire occurred at the Transneft-Druzhba control station in Novonikolskoye, where the Michurinsk Oil Refinery is also located.
- Overnight on Sunday, October 27, Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 41 Russian attack drones targeting multiple regions. Another 32 drones are unaccounted for.
