Russian forces launch 65 attacks on April 18, focus on Pokrovsk

Russian shelling of Ukraine

Artillery and mortar fire from Russia has affected the settlements of Prokhody, Progres, Studenok, Sosnivka, Zarutske, Popivka, Shalygyne, Vasylivske in the Sumy region. Additionally, enemy aviation struck areas near the settlements of Uhroidy, Turya, Krasnopillia, Petrushivka, and Mala Rybytsia in the Sumy region.

Situation in the main front line sectors

In the Kharkiv direction, the Russian army once attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders near Vovchansk.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian troops made one attack near Zahryzove.

In the Lyman direction, the Russian enemy launched 10 attacks on Ukrainian positions in the areas of Hrekivka, Nadiia, Yampolivka, and Torske. One battle is still ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy attempted to advance twice near Chasiv Yar and west of Andriivka.

In the Toretsk direction, the enemy is trying to break through Ukraine's defense near Toretsk, Ozarivka, Dachne, Krymske, and Druzhba. Four attacks are ongoing, and nine enemy assaults have been repelled.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the Russian army made 24 attempts to push Ukrainian troops from their positions in the areas of Tarasivka, Novotoretske, Yelizavetivka, Lysivka, Uspenivka, Novooleksandrivka, Bohdanivka, Andriivka, and in the directions of Oleksandropil, Myrolyubivka. The Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled 22 attacks, and 2 battles are still ongoing.

In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled five Russian assaults. The enemy attempted to advance in the areas of Kostiantynopil, Vilne Pole, and the direction of Odradne. One battle continues. Aviation strikes targeted Zelene Pole, Myrne, and Novopil.

In the Huliaypole direction, Russian aviation carried out strikes with unguided aviation rockets on Huliaipole and Malynivka.

In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled an enemy attack near Shcherbaky. Aviation strikes hit Novodanilivka, Magdalynivka, and Stepnohirsk.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Russia carried out an aviation strike on Mykolaivka.

In the Kursk region, Ukrainian forces repelled six Russian attacks on April 18, and one battle is still ongoing. Enemy aviation carried out 12 strikes, dropping 20 guided bombs. Furthermore, the enemy made 134 artillery shelling attacks on Ukrainian forces’ positions and settlements.
