Russian forces increase use of FPV drones in Chernihiv, Sumy regions - Ukraine’s military
Russian forces have increased their use of FPV drones in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions
The spokesman for the Siversk grouping of troops, Vadym Mysnyk, reported this during a telethon on August 5.
"Russia's tactics have not changed significantly; they continue to shell the border daily and launch attacks deeper into these regions. They use a wide range of weapons, including artillery of various calibers. Recently, there has been a notable increase in the use of FPV drones and strike drones by Russian troops. In recent days, they have also used aviation, including unguided aerial missiles. This morning, we received reports that guided aerial bombs were also used," Mysnyk said.
According to Mysnyk, the movement and rotation of Russian troops near the border are influenced by their activities in other areas. He explained that Russian reconnaissance and sabotage groups primarily focus on gathering information. Their initial goal is to assess Ukrainian defenses to find weaknesses.
"We closely monitor their combat units, support structures, and artillery. This helps us track their movements and adjust our defense strategies to prevent them from launching deeper attacks into our territory," Mysnyk emphasized.
