He said this on the Espreso TV channel.

"Regarding the situation around Chasiv Yar, the enemy is attempting to move in several directions. From the north of Bohdanivka and Ivanivske, to come out onto Chasiv Yar from the south, creating two possible directions of encirclement of Chasiv Yar. However, these are only theoretical assumptions based on the directions of the Russian main attacks. Currently, the main efforts of the Russians are concentrated around and within Ivanivske itself. The enemy is in the northern part of the town, then there is a road and there is also a southern part of the settlement Ivanivske. There is information that the enemy is currently engaging in combat actions specifically in the southern part, but these actions have also occurred before," explained Zgurets.

According to a military expert, there are fortifications around Chasove Yar, which is located on a hill.

"Currently, the main concern is determining what forces the Ukrainian military will deploy to repel ongoing Russian attacks in Ivanivske and its vicinity, preventing further Russian advancement towards Chasiv Yar. There are fortifications around Chasiv Yar, situated atop a hill. Reports indicated that the enemy attempted to breach these defensive lines, but they were defeated. We understand that the concentration of forces around Chasiv Yar is not as significant as it once was around Avdiivka, where 80,000 personnel and a substantial amount of armored vehicles were concentrated. Presently, the enemy does not possess such forces," Zgurets added.

  • National Guard major, chief of artillery staff of the 4th Rubizh Brigade Denys Nahornyi noted that Chasiv Yar became the target of the Russians after Avdiivka.
  • Andriy Otchenash, the commander of the Kara Nebesna UAV crew of the 4th Rubizh operational brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, spoke about the situation in the Bakhmut direction near Chasiv Yar.
