Russian forces attempt to push into Sumy region to disrupt supply routes to Kursk
Russian forces are trying to push into Ukraine’s Sumy region to cut off supply routes for the Ukrainian military heading toward Russia’s Kursk region
Andriy Demchenko, the spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service, stated this, as cited by Ukrinform.
“The Russian army is trying to enter in small groups along the border line to accumulate forces on our territory. This is a flank where the Defense Forces are conducting operations within the Kursk region. The enemy’s likely goal is to sever logistical routes to prevent the supply of necessary resources to our soldiers on the other side of the border, within Kursk,” Demchenko explained.
However, according to him, Russia has been unsuccessful in carrying out its plans in the Sumy region.
“The Defense Forces, including units of both the Armed Forces and the State Border Guard Service, are doing everything possible to prevent the enemy from, firstly, crossing our border, and secondly, securing a foothold in this area to expand the zone of active hostilities on our territory,” Demchenko concluded.
- Earlier, DeepState reported that the Russian army had advanced in the Donetsk and Kursk regions.
