Russian drone attack injures civilians in Kyiv, Kherson on Jul. 28

Kyiv

At 10:31 p.m., Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported air defense activity in the capital.

As of 02:33 a.m., Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA) Tymur Tkachenko said that, according to preliminary data, windows were shattered in a residential high-rise in the Darnytskyi district due to the Russian attack. One person was reported injured.

By 02:46 a.m., the number of injured rose to five.

Ten minutes later, Tkachenko reported eight injured in the Darnytskyi district.

"One of them is in serious condition," he added.

At 04:37 a.m., Tkachenko clarified that one of the victims was a 3-year-old child with shrapnel wounds. Four people were hospitalized.

Several cars near the residential building were also damaged, though no fire occurred.

The number of injured reported by the National Police and KCMA differs. As of 07:45 a.m., police stated that five people were wounded in Kyiv’s Darnytskyi district.

"The blast wave shattered windows from the 6th to the 11th floors of a high-rise, injuring five people with shrapnel wounds. Among them is a 2-year-old girl with cuts on her foot. The injured were hospitalized. Several cars parked in the courtyard were also damaged," the police statement read.

Zaporizhzhia

At 12:16 a.m., Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Administration Ivan Fedorov reported explosions in the region.

Kherson

According to the Kherson Regional Administration, Russian forces attacked Kherson at midnight.

As a result of the attack, a 32-year-old man sustained blast and closed head injuries, a concussion, and shrapnel wounds to his arm and leg.

He was hospitalized in moderate condition.

Kropyvnytskyi: philharmonic building damaged

During the night, Russian drones attacked Kropyvnytskyi. At 04:56 a.m., Andriy Raykovych, head of the Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration, reported the attack.

At 07:52 a.m., he wrote on Telegram that firefighting efforts were ongoing after the night attack.

"Relevant services are inspecting the locations. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties or injuries. The blast damaged the regional philharmonic building. After expert inspections, municipal services and a commission will begin assessing the damage," the statement said.

Khmelnytskyi, Rivne regions

On the night of July 28, the Russian army also attacked the Khmelnytskyi region. The regional administration reported that air defense was active and Russian targets were shot down.

In Rivne region, the air raid alert lasted almost all night. Air defense was also active there.
