Russian army to keep building up efforts in Ukraine’s Orikhiv sector

"The Orikhiv direction is one of the most difficult. Recently, the situation there has been somewhat calmer, but according to Ukrainian intelligence, Russia has been amassing forces and means to conduct assault operations," said Voloshyn.

According to him, the Russian army is using the tactics of assaults by small groups of infantry in the sector.

"Small groups consist of five to ten people accompanied by two or three armored vehicles. Several dozen such groups are concentrated in the Orikhiv sector. For example, seven assault actions were recorded over the past day, when the enemy tried to break into our defense and take control of our fortifications. All of these attacks failed, and the Russians retreated. However, they will continue to increase their efforts because they are preparing to conduct assault operations there," he added.

• On December 11, 140 combat engagements took place on the Russian-Ukrainian front. Ukraine's Armed Forces repelled 19 Russian attacks in the Kurakhove sector.
