140 clashes occur at front on Dec. 11: Ukrainian troops repell 19 Russian attacks in Kurakhove sector

This is stated in the Ukrainian General Staff's report as of 4:00 p.m.

During the day, Russia fired artillery at the settlements of Vysoke and Porozok in the Sumy region and Tymonovychi in the Chernihiv region.  

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv sector, since the beginning of the day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have repelled four Russian attempts to advance in the areas of Hlyboke, Lyptsi, and Starytsia. One firefight is ongoing near Vovchansk.

In the Kupyansk sector, the Russian army attempted to advance towards Ukrainian positions 11 times in the areas of Zakhidne, Pishchane, Lozova, and Zahryzove, with seven engagements taking place so far.  

In the Lyman sector, 21 combat engagements took place near Tverdokhlibove, Druzheliubivka, Novoiehorivka, Hrekivka, Makiivka, Terny, and Torske. Currently, five firefights are ongoing in this sector.  

In the Siversk sector, Russia conducted one offensive in the area of Verkhnekamianske.

In the Kramatorsk sector, two firefights took place in the areas of Chasiv Yar and Stupochky since the beginning of the day, which were repelled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. 

In the Toretsk sector, invading Russian troops attacked four times in the vicinity of Toretsk. Three of the attacks were repelled by Ukrainian defenders, and one firefight is still ongoing. In addition, Russia dropped 3 guided bombs on Krymske and Petrivka.  

In the Pokrovsk sector, combat engagements of varying intensity started 28 times today. Fighting is currently ongoing in the vicinity of Shevchenko, Pishchane, Novotroitske, Novooleksiivka, Novyi Trud, Dachanske, and Lysivka. 12 enemy attacks were repelled near Myroliubivka, Promin, and Pokrovsk.

In the Kurakhove sector, 19 Russian attacks were repelled near Sontsivka, Stari Terny, Dachanske, Zorya, Kurakhove, Dachne, Katerynivka, Yelyzavetivka, Hanivka, Antonivka and Uspenivka. Ukrainian troops are repelling nine more firefights that are still ongoing.  

In the Vremivka sector, the Russian aggressor attacked 26 times near Trudove, Kostiantynopolske, Sukhi Yaliv, Blahodatne, and Novodarivka, with two engagements still ongoing. In addition, the Russian enemy bombarded Komar and Rozlyv with ten guided bombs.

In the Huliaipole sector, the Russian enemy did not conduct any active operations.  

In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian defences repelled one Russian enemy attack near Novodanylivka. In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces shot down one UAV in the vicinity of Svitlohorsk.  

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, one firefight took place in the area of Kozatsky Island since the beginning of the day.

In the Kursk region, Ukrainian defenders repelled 15 Russian enemy attacks, six of which are still ongoing. In addition, Russia fired 182 artillery shells at the region's localities and the positions of the Defence Forces.

• On Wednesday, 11 December, the Ukrainian Defence Forces managed to push back the Russian forces from Kostiantynopolske in the Donetsk region.
