Russian army may concentrate on Pokrovsk at end of October - Ukrainian servicema Firsov
Chief Sergeant of the UAV strike company Yehor Firsov believes that the Russian occupation army may resume active offensive actions towards Pokrovsk in late October
He expressed this opinion on Espreso TV.
‘It will be very difficult for Pokrovsk. We should never relax. We are now seeing that the enemy continues to concentrate a little bit lower than Pokrovsk.
In particular, Selydove, Vuhledar and Kurakhove. They want to launch active hostilities there. That is why it happened that the fighting in the Pokrovsk sector has calmed down a bit. However, I believe that in late October or early November, the enemy will return directly to Pokrovsk. These will not be frontal attacks. I think the Russian army will try to go around and surround the city,’ Firsov explained.
The serviceman emphasized that the Defense Forces of Ukraine should inflict huge losses on the enemy in the Pokrovsk sector.
‘Our main task is to resist and inflict huge losses on the enemy. I have long said that although we have lost Bakhmut, the fighting for the city led to the complete destruction of the Russian Wagner PMC there. Accordingly, this led to domestic political problems in Russia. Near Avdiivka, 12,000 Russian army personnel were killed. Accordingly, our units are facing the same task now,’ he added.
- On October 9, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that 172 combat engagements took place on the Russian-Ukrainian front over the past day. Most of the occupants' attacks were repelled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions
