Deadly Russian strikes target civilians, industrial sites throughout Ukraine

Kyiv: 4 killed, 20 injured. The subway, residential buildings, and an educational institution were damaged

As of 6:27 a.m., four people were reported killed in the capital. Search and rescue operations are underway at several locations.

According to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, as of 6:02 a.m., one person was killed and 20 people were injured in the capital as a result of the Russian attack (16 hospitalized).

The head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, reported that the Russian attack damaged the subway tracks between Darnytsia and Livoberezhna stations. Vitali Klitschko clarified that the repair work would last throughout the day.

“Trains will run only between Akademmistechko and Arsenalna stations with an interval of about 6 minutes,” the Kyiv City State Administration said in a statement.

According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, as of 3:41 a.m., three injured men from Holosiivskyi and Solomianskyi districts were known to be injured.

According to the operational data released by the Kyiv City Military Administration, the situation in Kyiv was as follows at 2:10 a.m. on Friday, June 6:

Solomianskyi district. A fire broke out in a non-residential area, and rescuers were working to localize it.

There was also a fire on the 8th-10th floors of a 16-story residential building. The rescue operation continued at the scene.

Darnytskyi district: the wreckage of a UAV fell on a playground. Preliminarily, there was no fire. Information about the wreckage falling in several locations was also clarified.

Holosiivskyi district: a fire broke out at a civilian infrastructure facility. Electricity was being restored to neighborhoods on the left bank.

At this time, the attack on Kyiv continued.

At 2:27 a.m., the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, wrote that, according to preliminary data, the Russian aggressors had struck an educational institution in Solomianskyi district.

"This is their style. Residential buildings, social infrastructure," he added.

“Rescuers are also working to localize and eliminate a fire in a non-residential area (metal hangar), on an area of about 500 square meters at another location in Solomianskyi district,” Tkachenko added.

Rescuers killed in Kyiv

On the morning of June 6, Ukraine's Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko reported that three rescuers of the State Emergency Service were killed in Kyiv while responding to the aftermath of Russia's shelling.

"They were working under fire to help people. Another 9 rescuers were injured. Some of them are seriously wounded, doctors are fighting for their lives," said Klymenko.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine later informed that Pavlo Yezhor, Danylo Skadin and Andriy Remennyi were among the killed rescuers.

Power outage in Kyiv

According to DTEK, 2,167 families on the left bank of the capital were left without electricity due to Russian shelling.

"We are doing everything possible to restore power to every home as soon as possible," the company said.

Kyiv region: housing damaged in several districts

The shelling also damaged railroad tracks. A number of trains in the Trypillia direction will follow a backup route through Fastiv (without stopping at Vydubychi station).

To Kyiv:

- 785/791 Kremenchuk, Kropyvnytskyi - Kyiv;

- 79 Dnipro - Lviv;

- 119 Dnipro - Chełm;

- 37 Zaporizhzhia - Kyiv;

From Kyiv:

- 732 Kyiv - Zaporizhzhia;

- 44 Ivano-Frankivsk - Cherkasy.

“As a result of the detour, we should expect a delay of up to 90 minutes,” Ukrzaliznytsia said at 5:26 a.m.

According to the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, the consequences of the Russian attack are recorded in 3 districts of the region.

"In Buchanskyi, Brovarskyi, Boryspilskyi districts, private houses and outbuildings were damaged. Windows were smashed and roofs were damaged. There have been no reports of casualties," said Mykola Kalashnyk, head of the Regional Military Administration, in a statement at 3:51 a.m.

Ternopil: hits to industrial facilities

Mayor Serhiy Nadal said that as of 5:53 a.m., smoke was observed in Ternopil. It was previously reported that industrial and infrastructure facilities were hit. Residents were urged to close their windows.

Part of the city was also left without electricity. There are problems with water supply.

"The Ternopil Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention is measuring the air in the city. But on my behalf, I ask you not to leave the house unless absolutely necessary. During the day, limit the presence of children and the elderly outside," Nadal added.

As of 8:00 a.m., it was reported that experts had found an excess of the maximum permissible concentration of certain harmful substances.

Vyacheslav Nehoda, head of the Ternopil Regional Air Pollution Control Agency, said that air measurements are ongoing.

According to Ihor Klymenko, 5 rescuers were injured while extinguishing the fire in the Ternopil region. All of them are being provided with medical aid.

Lutsk: 5 injured, apartment buildings damaged

During the night, Russian invaders also attacked the Volyn region. Lutsk Mayor Ihor Polishchuk reported the first explosions around 2:30 a.m. Missiles and Shaheds were fired at the city.

"The roof of one of the apartment buildings was damaged, many windows in apartment buildings were smashed, commercial facilities and private cars were damaged. We also have many broken windows in private homes, some educational institutions, and a damaged government agency," the statement said.

As of 5:53 a.m., 5 people were reported injured.

At 06:18, Ihor Polishchuk informed that all services are working on the spot and providing people with the necessary assistance.

Lviv region: industrial facility in Drohobych district damaged

The head of the Lviv regional military administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, reported that the Russian aggressors attacked the Lviv region last night with attack UAVs and cruise missiles.

According to preliminary information, there were no casualties. The air defense system was working.

"An industrial facility in Drohobych district was damaged. In addition, there are problems with power lines in several villages near Lviv. Lvivoblenergo's emergency team is already working on the spot. The life support systems of the Lviv region are operating normally," added Kozytskyi.

Chernihiv: a Russian drone explodes near a high-rise building

The head of the Chernihiv City Military Administration, Dmytro Bryzhynskyi, wrote in his telegram channel at 00:53 a.m. that Chernihiv was under attack by Russian drones. At the same time, he reported that, according to preliminary data, a high-rise building had been hit.

At 1:13 a.m. Bryzhynskyi clarified the information.

“A Shahed explosion was detected near a high-rise building, which damaged the doors and windows of the building,” he wrote.

Consequences of a Russian attack in Khmelnytskyi region

According to the head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Military

Administration, Serhiy Tiurin, as of 6:40 a.m., a private house, two outbuildings, a fence, and two cars were damaged.

According to preliminary reports, there were no casualties. 

Consequences of a Russian attack in the Cherkasy region

According to the head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, Ihor Taburets, three Russian missiles and 22 drones were destroyed in the region.

"As a result of the fall of the drone fragments in Zvenyhorod district, we damaged the power supply line. It was quickly restored. Also, windows in a private house were smashed in Uman district. The area is being inspected," added Taburets.

Poltava region: destruction and casualties

According to Volodymyr Kohut, head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, a massive Russian attack in Kremenchuk district damaged administrative buildings, warehouses of several enterprises, and a coffee shop. The fires caused by the attack have been extinguished. Debris was also recorded falling on a private house.

"Three people were injured. Two of them received medical aid on the spot, one person was hospitalized in a moderate condition," added Kohut.

Timeline of the attack 

The attack by the Russian forces began in the evening of June 5, around 8:00 p.m. During the night, according to the information published by the Air Force, the Russian Federation used attack UAVs, cruise missiles from Tu-95MS, Kalibr missiles, and ballistic missiles against Ukraine. Sirens were heard throughout Ukraine.
