Russia shells Kherson: one killed and wounded, humanitarian mission vehicle damaged
On Thursday, July 18, the Russian occupation army shelled Kherson and the region: a man was killed, and three other people were wounded in the attacks. A humanitarian mission vehicle was also damaged
This was reported by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.
According to him, residential areas of Kherson once again came under enemy fire. As a result of the attack, three people who were on the street were wounded.
A 16-year-old girl was taken to hospital in serious condition. She was diagnosed with explosive trauma, brain contusion and head wounds. A 71-year-old woman sustained injuries to her face, neck and a fractured jaw as a result of the Russian attack. A 50-year-old woman from Kherson sustained concussion, blast and brain injuries, and shrapnel wounds to her face and lower extremities. The injured are being treated by medics.
"In the apartment block attacked by the Russian forces, the windows were smashed, and the walls were covered with shrapnel. Cars parked nearby, and a gas pipeline were also damaged," Prokudin added.
Earlier, Russia also shelled one of the settlements in Kherson district.
Around 13:00, a 74-year-old local resident was killed by a shell explosion. The attack also set a private house on fire.
"The Russian occupants also damaged a humanitarian mission vehicle by dropping explosives from a drone," the prosecutor's office said.
A pre-trial investigation has now been initiated in criminal proceedings over the violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
