Spokesperson for Ukraine's State Border Guard Service, Andrii Demchenko, reported the information on the United News telethon.

"Russia's goals are probably not fully achieved, but they have previously indicated their plan to create a gray zone on Ukrainian territory. This is what we are currently seeing in certain areas of the Sumy region," he said.

Demchenko informed that Russian troops are attacking on quad bikes (ATVs). In addition to Basivka and Zhuravka villages, Russian forces are testing other areas.

"Russian troops are probing other sections as well, where they also plan to use this tactic—small assault groups, and in some cases, these are attempts by small assault groups to break through using quad bikes," the spokesperson added.

  • On April 17, Ukraine's State Border Guard Service reported that Russian troops were establishing so-called anti-drone corridors for the movement of equipment, camouflaging them with nets.
