Russia revamps weapons, combat tactics in last six months
Over the past six months, Russia has actively modernized its weapons and changed how it uses them in battle
Yuriy Ihnat, Head of Communications for Ukraine’s Air Force Command, shared the information with Espreso TV.
"Yes, the enemy is upgrading its weapons. For example, they are adding radar traps to missiles. But this has been going on for six months, not just recently. The enemy is also constantly changing how they use their weapons. The Russians are modernizing their ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and Shahed drones. Today, they attacked Ukraine with almost a record number — 298 drones, including decoys. That’s a very large number," Ihnat said.
He also praised the effective work of Ukraine’s air defense during the large-scale combined attacks.
“Unfortunately, there have been casualties today. The enemy continues to terrorize our country, but despite their attempts at a massive coordinated strike, our air defense keeps achieving strong results by shooting down enemy weapons,” he added.
- On the evening of May 24, the invading Russian army launched attack drones over Ukraine. Later that night, they fired cruise missiles. Several Ukrainian regions suffered casualties and damage.
