Russia resumes attacks near Pokrovsk after 10-day pause
Near Pokrovsk in Donetsk region, Russian forces are resuming efforts to improve their tactical position after a temporary pause
This was reported by Khortytsia operational and strategic grouping of troops' spokesperson Viktor Trehubov during a telethon.
"Regarding the prospects in the Pokrovsk direction: the Russians were very exhausted over the past two months. For the first 10 days of March, they took a pause. During this pause, the number of combat engagements in this area sharply decreased, but then it started rising again. This means that the Russians simply recovered and are now resuming their attempts to improve their tactical position near Pokrovsk," he said.
At the same time, the spokesperson emphasized that the intensity of enemy attacks has not reached the level seen in February because there are fewer Russians now.
"They are fewer, and they have less equipment. The guys fighting on these directions — Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad — say there are fewer Russian troops there," Trehubov noted.
He also explained that the Russian army cannot leave this direction, as it remains part of their strategic plans to control this part of Donetsk region.
- Analyzing the situation along the front line, the head of the Reserve Council of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Ivan Tymochko, stated on March 22 that the Russian army is once again trying to activate offensives.
