Russia responds to Ukraine-U.S. ceasefire proposals with renewed shelling — Zelenskyy
The Russian authorities are responding to proposals from Ukraine and the United States for an unconditional ceasefire with renewed shelling, assaults, and attacks
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this.
According to him, for over 50 days Russia has "ignored the American offer of a full and unconditional ceasefire."
“There were also our proposals - at the very least, to stop strikes on civilian infrastructure and ensure lasting silence in the sky, at sea, and on the ground. Russia has responded to all of this with new shelling and new assaults,” the president said.
He emphasized that this is why further pressure on Russia is needed - to force it into silence and into negotiations.
“The more effectively sanctions work, the more incentive Russia will have to end the war. The stronger Ukraine’s defense and air protection, the more lives we can save - and the sooner we can secure lasting safety. Thank you to everyone around the world who is helping,” Zelenskyy added.
- On Wednesday evening, April 30, the invading Russian forces launched attack drones at Ukraine from several directions.
