Russia reportedly preparing 150 missiles for major attack on Ukraine
Defense Express development director Valerii Riabykh says that Russia probably retains the potential of up to 150 missiles of various types for a massive attack on Ukraine
He said this on Espreso TV.
"Indeed, Russia has not launched large-scale missile strikes on Ukrainian territory for some time. Currently, Russia primarily uses Shahed-type attack UAVs. These attacks are intended not only to exert psychological pressure on Ukraine’s population but also to impact the Ukrainian economy, limiting its ability to effectively defend against aggression. It can be assumed that the missiles Russia is refraining from using against Ukraine are being stockpiled for a large-scale strike. Various experts suggest that Russia currently holds a reserve of 100 to 150 missiles of various types for a potential massive strike against Ukraine, including Kh-101 and Kh-555 air-to-ground missiles, as well as other cruise and ballistic missiles," explained Riabykh.
According to the expert, Russia may plan another missile attack targeting Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
"The enemy retains the capability to launch a large-scale terrorist attack on Ukraine. We are now observing measures Russia may be taking, such as UAV attacks, which could deplete our air and missile defense systems. The invaders are also likely attempting to identify potential routes for missiles to reach their targets. Additionally, it’s worth noting that the enemy may be preparing for attacks on Ukrainian nuclear power plants. However, the situation has changed compared to last year, and now we can respond in kind. Ukraine also possesses certain capabilities that could damage the energy infrastructure of the terrorist state," he added.
- In the evening of October 27, the Russian army launched Shahed-type UAVs and guided bombs at the territory of Ukraine. Kharkiv suffered two attacks, with more than 20 people injured, including children.
