Russia maintains key attack directions as front line stays unchanged — military expert Zgurets
Serhiy Zgurets, a military expert and CEO of the media and consulting company Defense Express, noted that Russian forces are trying to prepare the ground for an offensive towards Pokrovsk
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"The front line remains largely unchanged, but the main Russian strike directions are now focused on forming the conditions for an offensive towards Pokrovsk. On the southern flank of Pokrovsk, Russians are attempting to advance towards Shevchenkove and other villages. There are also two other key areas, one around Kurakhove, where Russian troops continue attempts to push Ukrainian forces out of the pocket formed to the south of the city," the military expert commented.
According to him, fighting continues along the Sukhi Yaly River. Additionally, there is still a threat to Ukrainian forces in the pocket south of Kurakhove. The situation is challenging, but Ukrainian troops continue to hold the area and are not rushing to retreat despite all the risks.
"The third direction is Velika Novosilka, where the Ukrainian Armed Forces conducted counterattacks to push Russians out of villages such as Novyi Komar and Rozdolne. In turn, Russian forces are conducting frontal attacks on Makarivka and continue attempts at flank encirclements of Velyka Novosilka. Ukrainian forces have been deployed to stabilize the situation on this front. Active offensive actions are ongoing from both sides," noted Serhiy Zgurets.
