Next two weeks mark “window of opportunity” for Russian forces as Ukraine awaits weaponry
Ukrainian Colonel Vladyslav Selezniov says that Russia is currently laying the groundwork for attacks on the eastern front
He said this on Espreso TV.
"As for the situation to the west of Avdiivka, Russia is most likely laying the groundwork to continue attacking through New York in the direction of Toretsk. I have read Oleksandr Syrskyi’s report on his concerns about Kurakhove and Pokrovsk. I believe that the enemy does not have the resources to realize this mission.
However, I understand the chief commander's fears, because the territory of the Dnipropetrovsk region begins west of Pokrovsk. And it will be an extremely serious challenge for us if the Russian army dares to implement this mission," Selezniov said.
According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces colonel, it is clear that Russia still has at least two weeks of "window of opportunity" to launch certain offensive actions in eastern Ukraine.
"We still have not received the weapons promised by our Western partners, and this creates serious problems for our defenders. It is unacceptable and impossible to fight enemy tanks with bare hands," Selezniov emphasized.
- Over the past day, 97 combat engagements took place at the front. The Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled almost a hundred attacks by Russian troops in seven sectors and killed 1,160 soldiers.
- Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi spent two days at the positions of the Ukrainian military defending the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions.
