Russian army lost 15 tanks, 37 artillery systems and more than 1,100 soldiers per day - Ukraine's General Staff

Over the past day, 97 combat clashes took place on the frontline. Ukraine's defense forces repelled almost a hundred Russian attacks in seven directions and eliminated another 1,160 soldiers

This is stated in the report of the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff.

The total combat losses of the Russian Federation from 02/24/22 to 05/07/24 are estimated to be:

  • personnel - about 476,460 (+1,160) people,
  • tanks - 7,405 (+25) 
  • armored combat vehicles - 14,227 (+14)
  • artillery systems - 12,287 (+37) 
  • MLRS - 1,057 (+0) 
  • air defense systems - 792 (+1) 
  • aircraft - 349 (+0) 
  • helicopters - 325 (+0) 
  • UAVs of operational and tactical level - 9,717 (+34),
  • cruise missiles - 2,149 (+1)
  • ships/boats - 26 (+0)
  • submarines - 1 (+0)
  • motor vehicles and fuel tankers - 16,509 (+32) 
  • special equipment - 2,017 (+9).

Situation at the frontline: Ukrainian defense forces repelled 93 Russian attacks in 7 directions over the last day

According to the General Staff, the situation on the northern Ukrainian border has not changed significantly. 

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army is conducting subversive activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas and is also mining the territory along the state border.

In the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 14 attacks in the vicinity of Synkivka, Pishchane, Berestove in Kharkiv region and Stelmakhivka in Luhansk region.

In the Lyman direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces rebuffed 7 attacks in the areas of Nevske and Serebryanske forestry in Luhansk region and Terniv and Yampolivka in Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukraine's forces repulsed 17 attacks in the areas of Bilohorivka in Luhansk region and 6 more settlements in Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 31 attacks near 7 localities in Donetsk region.

In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back their enemy near 5 settlements in Donetsk region, where the Russian enemy tried to break through the Ukrainian troops' defenses 15 times.

In the Orikhiv direction, the Russian troops attacked the Ukrainian positions near Staromayorske, Donetsk region, and Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region, six times.

In the Kherson direction, the Russian army has not abandoned its intention to drive Ukrainian troops from their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Thus, over the past day, they made 3 unsuccessful attacks on the Ukrainian troops' positions.

At the same time, Ukrainian soldiers continue to inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, depleting the Russian enemy along the entire front line.

Ukrainian Armed Forces hit 11 areas of Russian troops' concentration. Russia shelled 120 settlements with artillery

During the day, the aviation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck 11 areas where Russian personnel were concentrated, missile units destroyed 2 Russian artillery units, and the Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 1 Kh-59 guided missile.

At the same time, Russia launched 2 missile and 83 air strikes, fired 101 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the Ukrainian troops' positions and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Over the last day, 1 locality in Chernihiv region, 4 in Sumy region, 3 in Kharkiv region, 2 in Luhansk region, 15 in Donetsk region and 2 in Kherson region were subjected to air strikes.

More than 120 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.
