Russia gathers all available Zircon missiles in Crimea - Defense Express
Defense Express military expert Ivan Kyrychevskyi explained how Russia could have launched the Zircon missiles that hit Kyiv on March 25
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
"As for where the Russian forces launched the Zircon missiles from, we can only speculate based on the statements of Russian propagandists. Back in 2022, the Russians stated directly that these missiles ‘do not have analogues' that they want to adapt them for launching from the Bastion coastal launchers, which are configured for Oniks missiles," Kyrychevskyi said.
According to the military expert, the Russian forces have also made no secret of their intention to adapt the so-called Object-100 for Zircon.
"This is an underground missile system that the Russians seized in 2014 in Crimea and used for training exercises. Given today's reports by the spokesperson for the Southern Operational Command that the occupiers have concentrated several dozen Zirkon missiles in Crimea, it looks like they have assembled all the available Zircon missiles in Crimea," Kyrychevskyi added.
- On the morning of Monday, March 25, Russian terrorists launched a missile attack on the capital of Ukraine. Air defense forces shot down two Russian ballistic missiles over Kyiv. There has been no official confirmation from the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces that the Russian forces attacked Kyiv with Zircon hypersonic missiles.
- The spokesperson for the Southern Ukrainian Defence Forces, Natalia Humeniuk, said that Russia has several dozen long-range ballistic missiles, but is forced to use reserve weapons, which means that the enemy is desperate.
- The Air Force cannot say for sure that Russia used Zircon in the attack on Kyiv, but if this is confirmed, it could mean that it is running out of weapons.
