'Response to peace proposals': Russia launches nearly 70 missiles, over 1,000 drones at Ukraine in one month
On March 11 in Jeddah, Ukraine agreed to the United States' proposal for a complete temporary ceasefire. Since then, Russia has launched nearly 70 missiles of various types, over 2,200 Shahed drones, and more than 6,000 guided bombs at Ukraine
Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said in a statement published on the Foreign Ministry's official website.
“Today marks exactly one month since Russia refused to accept the full temporary ceasefire proposed by the United States. Exactly one month ago, on March 11 in Jeddah, Ukraine accepted this proposal - unconditionally. Russia refused to agree, instead putting forward conditions and demands. At the same time, Russia continued escalating its terror against the civilian population,” Sybiha emphasized.
He added that from March 11 to April 11, Russia fired almost 70 missiles of various types, more than 2,200 Shahed drones and more than 6,000 guided bombs at Ukraine.
“This was Russia's response to peaceful proposals. This is typical for Russia: lies, manipulations and continuation of terror,” the Ukrainian Foreign Minister emphasized.
He added that during this month, “there could be silence and confidence-building measures to achieve the just peace that the United States, European and other partners seek.”
“Russia is the sole obstacle to peace and the only source of war. We don’t need to wait another month to increase pressure on Moscow. Russia must feel real strength to take peace seriously,” Andrii Sybiha concluded.
- Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the number of Russian air strikes on Ukraine was increasing.
