"Pressure on Russia is insufficient": Zelenskyy says number of air strikes on Ukraine is growing
Over the past week, Russian forces have only increased attacks on Ukrainian cities and villages. In that time, Russia have launched more than 2,100 missiles, drones, and air bombs
Zelenskyy wrote about this on social media.
"The pressure on Russia is still insufficient, and the daily Russian strikes on Ukraine prove it. Last night, ballistic missiles were launched against Kyiv, while attack drones targeted the region. Strikes also hit the Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, and Cherkasy regions. The number of air attacks is increasing. This is how Russia reveals its true intentions — to continue the terror for as long as the world allows it," Zelenskyy said.
He noted that over the past week alone, Russia launched over 1,460 guided bombs, nearly 670 strike drones, and more than 30 missiles of various types on Ukrainian cities and villages – over two dozen just last night.
"Every strike targets our people, our children. They are waging war against children playing on playgrounds. My condolences to all the families and loved ones of the victims. I thank all our services who are helping and saving Ukrainians. These attacks are Putin’s response to all international diplomatic efforts. Each of our partners — the United States, all of Europe, the entire world — has seen that Russia intends to continue the war and the killing. That is why there can be no easing of pressure," the president stressed.
Zelenskyy said all efforts now must be focused on ensuring security and bringing peace closer.
- On the morning of April 6, an air alert was declared across Ukraine as Russian forces launched cruise and ballistic missiles. One person was killed and several injured in the attack on Kyiv.
