Ukrainian Colonel Vladyslav Selezniov says that there is not a single element that would indicate that the situation in the Avdiivka sector has been stabilized

He said this on Espreso TV.

"The Russian army actually has considerable resources in the Avdiivka sector. Moreover, it continues to transfer additional resources to radically change the situation on the battlefield. The Berdychi-Orlivka-Tonenke defense line is being held by the courage, valor and heroism of our soldiers. In fact, we have not managed to create a powerful network of engineering fortifications, so under such conditions we should not hope to repel all enemy attacks for a long time. There is not a single element that would indicate that the situation in this section of the front is stabilized," noted the Ukrainian Armed Forces colonel.

According to him, not only Ukrainian defenders, but also our engineering and technical units have to work on creating the second and third lines of defense of the defensive structures.

"This task was once defined by the President of Ukraine, and this task also realizes two important missions. The first is to save the lives of our soldiers, and the second is to slow down the advance of the enemy army. Where we have powerful engineering fortifications, the enemy has a slim chance of advancing. And where there are no such structures or they are made in a hurry, we can count on small results, and this should be taken into account," Vladyslav Selezniov summarized.

  • The General Staff reported that on March 14, 76 combat engagements took place at the front. Instead, the Ukrainian military repelled attacks in 6 directions and killed 580.
  • Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi visited Ukrainian soldiers and met with commanders in the Avdiivka sector.
  • On March 15, the General Staff reported that in the Avdiivka sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled more than 20 enemy attacks in the areas of Berdychi, Orlivka, Tonenke, and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region.
  • On March 17, the General Staff stated that the Defense Forces repelled 11 enemy attacks in the Avdiivka sector. The Russian troops tried to break through the Ukrainian defense 25 times in the Novopavlivka sector.
