Russia claims ‘objectives achieved’ after massive strikes on Ukraine

Russia’s Defense Ministry has claimed responsibility for a large-scale air assault on Ukraine during the night of June 17, stating that it used "high-precision weapons" and drones to target what it described as military-industrial facilities in Kyiv region and Zaporizhzhia

According to Radio Svoboda, the Russian side said, "the objectives of the strikes were achieved, and all designated targets were hit." 

The assault was one of the most intense in recent weeks. As of now, at least 14 people are confirmed dead in Kyiv and one in Odesa, with dozens more injured. Authorities warn that the death toll may rise as search and rescue operations continue.

According to emergency medical services, 14 people were killed and 114 injured in Kyiv alone. The city has declared June 18 a Day of Mourning.
