Russian troops storm Ukrainian positions 73 times in one day - Ukraine's General Staff

Russian attacks across Ukraine

During the day, Russian forces launched one missile and 58 air strikes, fired 70 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Multi-storey and private houses, as well as other infrastructure facilities, were destroyed and damaged.

Frontline situation

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no Russian offensive groups have been detected. Certain units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are performing tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

At the same time, the Russian army continued shelling the entire borderline with mortars and artillery: over 20 settlements across the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked. 

In the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled two Russian attacks near Ivanivka and Tabaivka, and another 14 enemy attacks near Synkivka in Kharkiv region, where Russian forces with the support of aviation, tried to drive Ukrainian troops from their positions. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire in Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled five attacks near Terny, Donetsk region, where the enemy, supported by aviation, tried to break through the defenses. Artillery and mortar shelling hit more than 10 localities in Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled five enemy attacks in the vicinity of Ivanivske and Klishchiivka in Donetsk region, where the enemy was trying to improve its tactical position. Russian forces launched air strikes near Chasiv Yar, Predtechine, and New York in Donetsk region. Also, more than 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 15 enemy attacks in the areas of Berdychi, Orlivka, Severne, Pervomaiske and Nevelske in Donetsk region. Russian enemy carried out air 5 strikes. About 15 localities came under enemy artillery and mortar fire in the Donetsk region.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian forces continue to hold back the enemy in the area of Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region, where the enemy tried to break through the defenses of Ukrainian troops 15 times. In addition, Ukrainian troops repelled eight enemy attacks near Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka and Pobeda in Donetsk region. Russian enemy launched air strikes near Novomykhailivka and Kostyantynivka in Donetsk region. Five more settlements of Donetsk region came under artillery and mortar fire.

Russia did not conduct any assault operations in the Novopavlivka sector; carried out air strikes near Urozhayne and Staromayorske in Donetsk region. About 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Ukrainian forces repelled five enemy attacks near Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region. Russian forces launched air strikes near Novoselivka and Lyubymivka in Zaporizhzhia region. About 15 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Kherson direction, the Russian enemy does not give up its intention to drive Ukrainian units from the footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River. 

Thus, during the day, four attempts were made to storm the positions of Ukrainian troops. About 15 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including the city of Kherson.

Ukrainian strikes against Russian military positions 

Over the day, the aviation of Ukrainian Armed Forces launched 9 strikes on Russian military personnel.

Moreover, missile troops struck two areas where Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment were accumulated, as well as one control point, and a ground control station of Russian UAVs.

• Over the last day, February 25, 95 combat engagements took place in the frontline. Russian enemy tried to break through Ukrainian defenses in the Marinka sector 40 times. Ukrainian Armed Forces neutralized 880 Rusian soldiers.
