Russia attacks Ukrainian positions 37 times in five sectors - Ukraine's General Staff

The General Staff's evening report for March 24 states this.

Russia's attacks on Ukraine

During the day, the Russian armed forces launched 32 missile and 47 air strikes, fired 48 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of our troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Multi-story buildings and private houses were destroyed and damaged.

Frontline situation 

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. Certain units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are performing tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

At the same time, the Russian army continued shelling the entire borderline with mortars and artillery.

In the Kupyansk sector, Russian troops did not conduct any assault operations. More than 10 settlements, including Sinkivka, Ivanivka, and Berestove in the Kharkiv region, came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian troops repelled 5 attacks near Bilohorivka, Luhansk region, where the enemy, supported by aviation, tried to break through Ukrainian defense. Russian troops conducted air strikes in the areas of Serebryanske forestry in Luhansk region and Ozerne in Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements in Luhansk and Donetsk regions suffered from artillery and mortar attacks.

In the Bakhmut sector, Defense forces beat back 5 attacks in the areas of Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka, Andriivka in Donetsk region. The adversary launched an air strike near Zalizne, Donetsk region. About 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire, including Bohdanivka, Vasyukivka and Chasiv Yar in Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 8 Russian attacks near Berdychi, Umanske, and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region. About 20 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Novopavlivka sector, Ukrainian defense forces are holding back the enemy in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Novomykhailivka and Urozhaine, where the invaders, supported by aviation, tried to break through the defense 17 times. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar.

In the Orikhiv sector, Russia attacked the Ukrainian positions 2 times with the support of aviation near Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Kherson sector, Russian troops did not conduct any assault operations during the day. They fired from multiple rocket launchers at such localities as Kozatske and Poniativka in the Kherson region.

Strikes by the Ukrainian Defense Forces on Russian positions

During the day, Ukrainian aviation struck 8 areas where Russian troops, weapons and military equipment were concentrated.

Missile units destroyed 2 air defense systems, 3 artillery systems and 1 electronic warfare station.
