Russian forces attack Ukraine with Shaheds, KABs overnight

On the evening of Friday, October 11, Russian forces launched attack drones and bombs at Ukraine. One strike caused a fire on a farm in the Mykolaiv region, and three people were injured in Zaporizhzhia

Press Service of the Ukrainian Air Force notes that last night, Russian troops launched missiles of an unspecified type from the Belgorod region, as well as 28 attack drones from Kursk and Primorsko-Akhtarsk to attack Ukraine.

As a result of the air battle, the Ukrainian military shot down 24 Russian UAVs in Sumy, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, and Kherson regions. Two Russian drones were lost due to active countermeasures by electronic warfare units.

Strike on Sumy

The Regional Military Administration reported that the Russian forces launched a rocket attack on a residential neighborhood of Sumy.

 “One explosion was recorded. Preliminary reports indicate that no one was injured. All necessary services are working at the scene, and the consequences of the Russian attack are being assessed,” the statement said.

At 12:07 a.m., another explosion was heard in the city, Suspilne reports. At 12:17 a new explosion occurred.

Attack on Zaporizhzhia

At 2:15 a.m., the Ukrainian Air Force warned of the launch of guided aerial bombs in the Zaporizhzhia region, targeting the regional center. Soon after, Ivan Fedorov, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported explosions in the area.

At 2:27 a.m., it was reported that another bomb had been launched in the Zaporizhzhia region, heading for Zaporizhzhia city. Suspilne later reported that another explosion had occurred in Zaporizhzhia.

At 06:05 a.m., the Ukrainian Air Force announced another attack in Zaporizhzhia region.

On the morning of October 12, the military administration reported that Russia had hit private houses and production facilities of a Zaporizhzhia enterprise that night. 

Preliminary, three people were wounded, a 12-year-old girl is among them.

A private house was completely destroyed in the city as a result of the hostile attack, and the fire covered 35 square meters.

Attack on Mykolaiv region

During the night attack, the Russian troops attacked Snihurivka community in Mykolaiv region with drones. According to Vitalii Kim, the head of the Regional Military Administration, a fire broke out on the territory of a farm as a result of a UAV hit.

In addition, as a result of the fall of the Shahed wreckage shot down by air defense, dry grass caught fire in an open area outside the settlement. The fires have already been extinguished. There were no casualties.

In addition, at about 03:35 and 03:52 a.m., Russians attacked the Kutsurub community with FPV drones. There were also no casualties.

  • The same night, residents of the temporarily occupied town of Rovenky in the Luhansk region reported hearing explosions. The Ukrainian military struck a fuel and lubricants warehouse and a fire broke out there.
