The United States is capable of forcing Russia to end the war in Ukraine. Trump has powerful military, economic, and diplomatic tools at his disposal, which have repeatedly proven effective

This was stated by Ukrainian MP Oleh Synyutka during a broadcast on Espreso TV.

"Can Trump force Putin into a ceasefire and peace in Ukraine? Definitely yes! Because the U.S. is a country that can, through military, coercive, and economic means, compel anyone to uphold peace and the global order. And there should be no doubt about that," Synyutka emphasized.

According to the MP, Ukraine has recently begun to underestimate its ally. During Trump’s presidency, he has already won at least two wars. The first was in Syria, where a regime hostile to the U.S. and allied with Russia was destroyed. The second was with Iran, where military strikes inflicted devastating damage on one of Russia’s key allies.

"The question is not whether Trump can, but whether he wants to and is ready to use all the capabilities the U.S. possesses against Russia. That’s a question for Trump, of course — but also for Ukrainian diplomacy and the Ukrainian government. Can our leadership build the kind of relationship with the U.S. president and the country as a whole that would make them as committed to defending Ukraine’s interests as they were to defending Israel’s against Iran?" Synyutka noted.

He added that Ukraine must do everything possible to make the war one between the U.S. and Russia — for democratic values, freedom of speech, human rights, and the rule of law.

"This requires two things, both of which depend on us internally. First, we must truly demonstrate that we are defending those values. Second, we must give the U.S. a reason to take a more active role in this fight on Ukraine’s side," Synyutka stressed.

  • Russia and the United States have agreed on a meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. The Russian leader later stated that the UAE was a likely venue for talks with the U.S. leader, while saying a meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy was "possible, but still a long way off."
