MP Friz: Ukraine must use peace time to strengthen defense capabilities

She said this in an interview on the Espreso TV channel.

"Ukraine must make the most of the time that will be considered a so-called peace period after a potential agreement is reached with corresponding requirements for both sides regarding their implementation. This is necessary to continue strengthening our defense capabilities, developing the Defense Forces, and, in particular, finding more motivating factors to scale up the contract army in Ukraine," Friz pointed out.

According to the member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence, it is important that, in the event of aggression, Ukraine is ready. Ukraine now always knows that it has a large, aggressive neighbor who will constantly try to impose something through the power of force or compel certain actions.

"Therefore, we must use any time, including the possible future peace time, solely for strengthening our defense capabilities, innovation, and technology, as well as for the development of the contract army," Friz emphasized.
