American company Maxar cuts Ukraine’s access to satellite images
The American aerospace company Maxar Technologies has cut access to its satellite images for Ukrainian users
Militarnyi reported the information, citing several anonymous users of the commercial service.
In the official explanation received by users from Maxar's administration, it states that access was disconnected "by administrative request." Meanwhile, the outlet noted that the shutdown resulted from the U.S. government's ban on providing Ukraine with intelligence data.
According to Militarnyi, Maxar Technologies is one of the main providers of commercial satellite images for Ukrainian users, showing Russian troop movements and the aftermath of strikes on key targets in temporarily occupied territories and Russia.
Additionally, Maxar's satellite images have been repeatedly used by global media to illustrate and analyze the course of combat between Ukraine and Russia.
