This was reported by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
According to ISW, U.S. intelligence has played a key role in Ukraine’s early warning system since the Russian invasion, helping civilians prepare for incoming attacks.
Now, cutting off intelligence sharing will significantly impact security in Ukraine’s rear areas.
“A self-sufficient Ukrainian DIB (defense industrial base) would allow Ukraine to defend itself over the long-term with dramatically reduced foreign military assistance, and it is in America's core national security interests that Ukraine be able to continue its efforts towards self-sufficiency,” analysts said.
- On March 5, CIA Director John Ratcliffe officially announced a temporary pause in U.S. weapons and intelligence support for Ukraine. However, Bloomberg, citing a Ukrainian official, reports that Kyiv is still receiving U.S. intelligence data.
