Ukrainians build and donate FPV drones to military from home
Andriy Besedin, head of the Kupyansk city military administration, detailed the operations of the Kupyansk Drone platform. Presently, 125 FPVs are targeting Russian troops
Besedin shared this on Espreso.
"This is a unique platform, not just in the Kharkiv region, but one of only two in Ukraine — the Kupyansk Drone and the Zhytomyr Drone. It’s a social platform that allows people, no matter where they are — kitchen, office, or garage — to build an FPV drone, hand it to the military, and see it destroy enemy forces or equipment worth millions. As the Kupyansk city military administration, we cover part of the costs, about 7,500 UAH, to encourage people to construct more drones," Besedin explained.
He noted that Ukrainians are vigorously producing these UAVs.
"The platform is simple: there are roles like engineers who assemble drones and heads of spare parts —people can order the necessary parts with a click. Additionally, there are donors and a charity fund. So far, 125 FPV drones have been sent to the military via the Kupyansk drone platform. Over 220 engineers are registered and training on this platform. We stress that anyone can get involved, whether in the trenches or at home, contributing to the effort to destroy the enemy," Besedin emphasized.
Besedin highlighted that people from across Ukraine, aged 20 to 60+, are joining the initiative.
"I want to share a unique story. A woman, who sadly lost her son near Bakhmut, used state compensation to support the Kupyansk drone platform. With volunteer help, she assembled 70 FPV drones worth a million hryvnias and handed them to the 92nd and 14th brigades, which are now using them to fight the enemy. This story is deeply moving and shows immense respect and gratitude for such resilient individuals who are bringing our victory closer despite grief," he added.
