Kremlin tries to manipulate Western countries: ISW analyzes Putin's statements
Russia isn't interested in negotiating with Ukraine in good faith and is trying to convince the West to make concessions that violate Ukraine's sovereignty in advance
The Institute for the Study of War reports.
"ISW continues to assess that the Kremlin is not interested in good faith negotiations with Ukraine and only feigns its interest in negotiations as part of a wider informational effort intended to convince the West to preemptively make concessions that violate Ukraine's sovereignty," the statement says.
It is noted that the speech by Russian dictator and Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin was probably aimed at misleading the international community and undermining foreign participation in the upcoming Global Peace Summit.
According to analysts, Putin's statements are the latest attempts by the Kremlin to manipulate the West. Thus, the ISW emphasizes that the dictator is seeking to weaken Western unity before the Global Summit in Switzerland, to influence the current political discussions in the West on the confiscation of Russian assets, and to prevent possible new sanctions.
