Kremlin maintains lists targeting Ukrainians who oppose Moscow: expert on Andriy Parubiy's murder

Hanna Hopko, chair of the board of the NGO ANTS, expert in foreign policy and international relations, stated this on Espreso TV.

"The only way to make contract killings of the political elite and statesmen of Ukraine impossible is by disintegrating the enemy. And this must become a common goal that unites us all. Only Ukraine's victory is the way to ensure that the KGB, the FSB, or Russia's GRU no longer commission provocative actions aimed at destabilizing and demoralizing our state. The murder of Andriy Parubiy in Lviv testifies to the constancy of Moscow's plans," Hopko emphasized.

According to Hanna Hopko, Andriy Parubiy repeatedly warned of the great existential struggle that awaits Ukrainian society.

"Our task is to do everything so that Russia loses this war and the Ukrainian state becomes even stronger. Ukrainian special services must effectively protect the statesmen. I am surprised that the enemy has sanction lists and lists for the liquidation of people in Ukraine who interfere with Moscow. And we still do not have clear mechanisms or a registry of people who need state protection.

It is extremely important to strengthen security measures, because the enemy's plan is to collapse the rear, demoralize the front, and then force Ukraine to agree to unacceptable conditions. Russia clearly knows who its irreconcilable and ideological opponents are. That is why it has such lists," Hopko concluded.

• On August 30, around noon, public and political figure Andriy Parubiy was killed in Lviv. The killer fired about eight shots at him with a pistol. According to law enforcement, the shots were fired by a person dressed as a delivery courier. The suspected attacker was on an electric bicycle. He approached Parubiy, shot him, and rode away.
