Hundreds of Russian soldiers killed in Kharkiv sector – Regional Council deputy
Oleksandr Skoryk, deputy of the Kharkiv Regional Council, remarked that Russian forces have failed to advance or establish a presence in the Kharkiv region in the past day
He made these remarks on the Espreso TV channel.
"In the Kharkiv region, over the last day, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have thwarted Russian advances and foothold attempts. Our robust forces and reserves are positioned there. Encouraging developments are imminent from this front. The Russians are incurring significant losses. They move in infantry groups, attempting to bring in equipment, only to be intercepted and neutralized by our defense forces," Skoryk pointed out.
Skoryk revealed that Russians are suffering hundreds of casualties, though the reason remains unclear, as they persist in their efforts to establish a foothold in the northern part of Vovchansk.
"The enemy is striving to establish a presence in the village of Hlyboke, but their attempts are futile. Their fervor has waned since May 10. They seek to establish a foothold for propaganda purposes, showcasing their strength. Our volunteers report being openly targeted by snipers, with no chance for evacuation. Nevertheless, the situation is under control, with the Armed Forces firmly holding defensive positions and launching counterattacks," Skoryk stressed.
- Since the escalation of offensive actions in the Kharkiv region, the Russian army has advanced no more than 8 kilometers from the border. They persist in attacking across nearly the entire frontline, with a focus on the Pokrovsk and Kupyansk directions.
