Highly prepared and dangerous: General Malomuzh on Russian negotiators in Saudi Arabia
Ukrainian Army General and Head of the Ukrainian Foreign Intelligence Service (2005-2010) Mykola Malomuzh discussed the new Russian negotiators, Karasin and Beseda
He shared this on Espresso TV.
"They are much more dangerous than previous meetings. If Lavrov, for example, or other representatives of Putin's administration were present before, now we have two representatives—hawks toward Ukraine throughout our entire independence period. They clearly planned operations to seize political independence, such as advancing presidents, influencing the Verkhovna Rada, the Ukrainian government, the security sector, economy, technology, and defense industry, and to some extent, they succeeded. Their strategic and tactical plans included initially the capture of Crimea, followed by the plan to seize the entire state. This involves the FSB and intelligence services. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with Karasin as deputy minister, now the head of the State Duma's Committee on Foreign Affairs. But he's a direct agent of the Russian SVR, working undercover," he said.
Mykola Malomuzh pointed out that these are very well-prepared and dangerous negotiators. He believes they will impose their position, driven not only by their aggressive intentions but also by the operational situation.
"Knowing the negotiators from the U.S., our negotiators, and taking a very active, aggressive stance, our negotiation team really needs to be on a much higher level. It should include diplomats and intelligence officers who know them well, who have outplayed Putin, Medvedev, including Karasin and Beseda, who planned and supported the war in Ukraine, initiated it, and miscalculated. First and foremost, General Beseda, the head of the FSB’s Fifth Service, which has long overseen Ukraine in terms of its aggressive intentions toward our state and people. He miscalculated before the war, was dismissed because he promised Putin, as we’ve long known, that Ukraine would be taken in two weeks, Kyiv in three days. And on the 24th, we said: 'You miscalculated.' As Beseda said, 82% of Ukrainians are waiting for a leader like Putin. And if we come in, they will be warmly received at the parade. You can imagine the position of the FSB under this general. This general will now represent the negotiation group at the meeting with the Americans. And then there’s Karasin, who started as a diplomat in Ukraine and later worked as Deputy Minister," said Mykola Malomuzh.
