"Geographically disadvantageous": Ukraine's 59th Brigade on withdrawing from Novohrodivka
Serhiy Tsekhotskyi, an officer with the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade, explained that Ukrainian forces withdrew from Novohrodivka in the Donetsk region due to its unfavorable geographical position
He discussed this during an interview with Radio Svoboda.
"In my view, geographically, Novohrodivka's location wasn’t advantageous. As a stronghold, it wasn’t prepared for this moment," Tsekhotskyi remarked.
He pointed out that it made sense to pull personnel out of there. However, Tsekhotskyi emphasized that the withdrawal from Novohrodivka is "not the end of this fight."
The situation in Novohrodivka
DeepState reported on August 26 that Russian forces had made gains in Novohrodivka. At that time, analysts commented that "what happened in Novohrodivka and what might happen in Selydove should be a matter of concern not just for the public but also for the relevant authorities."
On September 2, Ukraine's General Staff reported that Russian forces were most active on the front in the Pokrovsk direction, particularly focusing their attacks near Novohrodivka and Mykhailivka.
