This was stated by the spokesperson for operational tactical group Luhansk, Dmytro Zaporozhets, during the national telethon.
"Regarding the situation in Chasiv Yar, Russian soldiers are actively using the pipes of the Siverskyi Donets canal to hide during bad weather. In Donetsk region, we often observe morning fog, and the Russia takes advantage of this time to gather in these pipes and then, when possible, move deeper into the town in the morning or at night," he explained.
Zaporozhets added that Ukrainian UAV operators are attempting to strike the Russian forces. According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are holding Chasiv Yar, although the number of Ukrainian positions near the town is decreasing.
- Espreso spoke to Andriy Poliukhin, a representative of the press service of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo, about the defense of Chasiv Yar.
- On January 12, it was reported that Russian actions to bypass Pokrovsk from the south were already underway. In the coming months, northern Donetsk region is to become a battlefield.
