Explosions rock Rostov-on-Don as drone attack hits city center

In Rostov-on-Don, explosions shook the city center, prompting a missile alert. Video shared on Telegram showed the drone in flight, its impact, and the aftermath. The strike reportedly damaged several apartment buildings, caused part of a high-rise roof to collapse, shattered windows in neighboring buildings, and injured 13 people, including two in serious condition, according to acting regional governor Yuriy Slyusar.

According to Radio Liberty, smoke was reported in the city center, and ambulances rushed to the scene. Photos circulated on Telegram show shattered windows, damaged balconies on upper floors, and part of the building’s roof destroyed. Eyewitnesses described hearing a loud explosion.

Rostov-on-Don is located about 150–200 kilometers from the front line in Ukraine.

Social media reports also indicated that drones attacked the Unecha oil processing plant in the nearby Bryansk region.

There has been no official comment from Russian federal authorities or Ukrainian officials regarding the attack.
