Expert: Murder of Parubiy part of Russia’s attempt to satisfy Putin’s demands
Russia is now attempting to take revenge on Ukraine for the elimination of its military officials and Ukrainian collaborators on Russian territory during the full-scale invasion
This was stated on Espreso TV by military expert and former SBU officer (2004-2015) Ivan Stupak.
“Russia may present the murder of Andriy Parubiy as satisfaction. Satisfaction for all the eliminations Ukraine has carried out on Russian soil. Specifically, the elimination of Russian military officials in Moscow and St. Petersburg, the explosions, the destruction of collaborators in Russia. For all of this, Russian intelligence wants to get satisfaction. One should understand their logic.
They think in terms of ‘Ukraine doesn’t exist,’ which is a mistake, and so on. Yet somehow, Ukrainian intelligence manages to reach high-ranking Russian officials, even if they are just a few hundred meters away from Red Square. Meanwhile, the Russians, supposedly so strong, with the KGB and FSB, haven’t carried out any major eliminations since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. So, they are trying to find any way to get such satisfaction,” Stupak explained.
The expert also noted that the murder of Andriy Parubiy could be part of Putin’s demands for his security services to act more decisively.
“That’s why they are using all methods to try to at least show some sort of progress to the Kremlin leadership. Since Ukraine has eliminated many of their officials over this time, and Putin will definitely demand similar actions from his security services. It’s worth noting that, despite all the external calm, the tension inside is simply incredible,” he added.
