Ukrainian drones strike oil refinery in Saratov, Russia
On the night of November 3, explosions were heard in the Russian city of Saratov — a local oil refinery was reportedly attacked
Ukraine’s General Staff reported the information.
Local residents reported a series of explosions and a fire, after which airport operations in the city were restricted for over six hours.
A strike at one of the facilities in the complex sparked a fire near the Electromechanical Oil Refining Units AVT-6.
In addition, Ukraine’s Defense Forces targeted several Russian logistics sites in the temporarily occupied Luhansk region, including a supply warehouse in Rozkishne and fuel and lubricants transport vehicles in Dovzhansk.
The Saratov oil refinery is one of the region’s key enterprises. It specializes in producing gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil, bitumen, vacuum gas oil, industrial sulfur, and other petroleum products — over 20 types in total.
According to official company data, the refinery processed 4.8 million tons of oil in 2023.
