Ukraine's security deal with Poland contains extremely important points - MP
Member of the Ukrainian Parliament Mykola Kniazhytskyi noted that the signing of security agreements with NATO countries is a certain guarantee for Ukraine
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
"It is important for Ukraine to sign agreements with NATO member states. Because we are not yet a NATO member, and security agreements are a certain guarantee for Ukraine. It is no coincidence that security agreements are signed with most of our allies.
The agreement with Poland has several special points. For example, Poland can shoot down missiles and other targets that are over the territory of Ukraine and flying towards Poland. This can protect cities in western Ukraine. Because Poland has Patriot systems in the west of the country that protect the hub through which weapons are supplied to Ukraine," said Kniazhytskyi.
According to the MP, the security agreement with Poland, signed on July 8 in Warsaw, contains many significant points related to joint arms production.
"Poland is our biggest ally. Therefore, the signing of this agreement is very important for us," said Kniazhytskyi.
- On July 8, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk signed an agreement on security cooperation in Warsaw.
- Earlier, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that the bilateral security agreement with Ukraine was almost ready and would be "99%" signed before the summit in Washington, D.C., on July 9-11.
