The Mariupol City Council reported the information.
According to the results of a study by Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare on cholera, a cholera-like vibrio was found in the sea waters, reservoirs, and rivers of Mariupol. This was also reported by local media.
The Mariupol City Council emphasises that the risk zone is the Kalmius River near the village of Sadky and the Post Bridge, the Kalchyk River, and the sea beach near the shipyard.
Local doctors say that it is dangerous to swim in these bodies of water.
"Earlier, the occupiers banned swimming in the Sea of Azov. Despite this, they continue to pollute the water with sewage and garbage," the city council adds.
- On April 3, massive cases of cholera among children were detected in the temporarily occupied Mariupol, which Russia is trying to hide with an undeclared quarantine.
