Chinese logistics hub near Russia's Yelabuga receives weekly trainloads of drone parts — expert
Russia has reached peak drone production but is actively increasing the logistics of supplying UAV components from China
Aviation expert Valerii Romanenko, a leading researcher at the State Aviation Museum, stated this on Espreso TV.
"In general, the Russians have already reached the ceiling in drone production. Compared to last year, the number of launches has increased, and serial production has increased more than 10 times. That is, the Russians introduced new production facilities within ten months," Romanenko noted.
According to the aviation expert, the Kupol plant in Izhevsk, which produces the "harpy" - an analogue of the Shahed with minimal differences - has joined the drone production process. In Yelabuga, production areas have doubled. The increase in drone production has been made possible by a more active supply of components from China.
"A Chinese logistics complex has been deployed near Yelabuga, where a train arrives weekly with components from China. However, Russian capabilities have already reached their upper limit. Further sharp growth is unlikely. Only a slight increase of a few percent is possible - by improving technological processes. But I think that our drones will also 'help' to improve these technological processes a little, but in the opposite direction," Romanenko emphasized.
- On the night of June 6, drones attacked several regions of Russia, striking, in particular, Russian strategic aviation facilities. The attacks were reported in Moscow, as well as in the Saratov, Tambov, and Ryazan regions.
