The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff confirmed the information about the strikes.

"The Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out a preemptive strike. On the eve of a massive enemy shelling, the airfields of the enemy's aviation bases and other important military facilities were hit," the statement says.

Ukrainian forces successfully struck the Engels airfield in the Saratov region and the Dyagilevo airfield in the Ryazan region.

In the Saratov region, numerous hits were confirmed on at least 3 tanks with fuels and lubricants, followed by ignition and a large-scale fire at the facility. Dozens of explosions were recorded, and the occupiers' emergency services failed to contain the fire.

"In addition, the Defense Forces attacked a number of important enemy targets on the territory of the Russian Federation and temporarily occupied regions of Ukraine. In particular, the defeat of the logistics point of the 30th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 72nd Motorized Rifle Division of the Russian army in the area of the settlement of Kulbaki, Kursk region, was recorded," the military added.

Units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Main Intelligence Directorate were involved in combat operations in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces.

"Strikes on military infrastructure will continue until the complete cessation of armed aggression by the Russian Federation," Ukrainian soldiers emphasize.

The results of the damage are being clarified.

Earlier, Russian media outlet ASTRA and other Russian Telegram channels reported the attack.

Ryazan region

In the Dyagilevo district of Ryazan, where the airbase of the same name is located, a drone attack and fire were reported by local residents. A fire was also reported near the village of Podvyazye following a UAV strike.

Attack on Engels in Saratov region

Explosions and a fire were reported in Engels, Saratov region. Local residents say a residential complex was hit, and an oil refinery was also targeted. Rosaviatsiya temporarily closed Saratov airport.

The governor of Saratov region stated, “A residential apartment building on Telman Street in Engels was damaged. No injuries reported. All emergency services are on site.”

According to him, a fire broke out at one of the industrial facilities in Engels as a result of the drone attack. Preliminary reports indicate no casualties.

The city is home to the Kombinat Kristall oil storage facility of the Russian State Reserve, which supplies fuel to the Engels-2 military airfield. This is a federal state institution responsible for storing fuel for the Engels-2 airbase.

Moscow region

Locals from Naro-Fominsk in the Moscow region reported explosions.

"To ensure the safety of civilian flights, temporary restrictions on arrivals and departures were imposed at Domodedovo and Zhukovsky (Ramenskoye) airports," Rosaviatsiya stated.

The restrictions were later lifted.

Moscow’s mayor, Sergey Sobyanin, claimed that Russian air defense allegedly destroyed seven drones heading toward Moscow. Restrictions were also later lifted at Vnukovo airport.

A fire broke out in a residential apartment building on Akademika Semenova Street in Southern Butovo. Several apartments burned down. There is no confirmation that the fire was caused by the attack.

Tambov region

In Michurinsk, Tambov region, the Progress factory was attacked, causing a fire. This was reported by local residents in chats and public pages.

"Around 2:15 a.m., a drone struck a workshop at the Progress factory. Emergency services are working on site, and there are casualties. Vehicle movement in the area is partially restricted. Firefighters are battling the blaze," one post on the Michurinsk News channel said.

The Michurinsk Progress factory produces equipment for aviation and missile control systems, as well as a wide range of civilian electrical equipment and equipment for gas and oil pipelines.

Tula region

The head of the Tula region stated that, reportedly, three people were injured as a result of drone attacks in the Tula region.

Kaluga region

The governor of the Kaluga region stated that Russia's air defense forces reportedly destroyed five drones near the border of Obninsk city and Borovsky district. Debris from one drone fell onto a highway. Preliminary reports indicate minor damage to four vehicles, with no serious injuries to passengers.

  • The governor of Bryansk region, Oleksandr Bohomaz, reported that drone attacks were reportedly being repelled in the region on the night of June 6. Russian social media posts mention explosions near the airport area.
