The UK Ministry of Defence reports.
It is noted that in the Zaporizhzhia direction, Russia has deployed the 58th combined-arms army and airborne troops (VDV), which operated in this direction during the Ukrainian counteroffensive in the summer of 2023, when the Russian forces suffered significant losses.
However, according to intelligence reports, Russia's mobilization efforts have allowed it to rebuild these units.
“Russian forces have intensified attacks across several points of the front line within the last week, likely intended to stretch Ukrainian forces,” the intelligence suggested.
- As of the evening of Sunday, February 18, 2024, Russian troops have had a small tactical success in advancing on the village of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region.
